What is Thai Yoga Therapy?
Thai Yoga Massage (known as 'Lazy man's yoga') is an ancient body-therapy
that originated in India and took root in Thailand about 2,000 years ago. It is a
flowing sequence of deep, rhythmic pressure to muscles and energy pathways in
the body, blended with passive stretching and joint mobilization. Slowly and
smoothly, the body is opened and compressed to relieve tension and restrictions,
creating a state of energized calm. This sophisticated, nurturing approach
unleashes our innate life-force energy.....restoring us to optimal balance, health,
and well-being.
Thai Yoga Massage provides the opportunity to release patterns of stress and
tightness, surrender into ease and relaxation, and move beyond our present
limitations. It benefits people of all ages, flexibility, and activity levels.....from
professional athletes to the average 'Jane or Joe'. As a gentle, holistic practice, it
is a valuable addition to any wellness regimen. While clients respond to this work
in relation to their own needs and present state of health, it is well to remember
that it has been used for generations to counter degenerative forces and promote
vitality.

yourself in a safe, therapeutic environment.
A healthy Body-Mind is like water.....soft yet powerful, endlessly flowing with ease,
surrender, and grace. The grip of stress and tension in our lives can obstruct the
flow of vitality, like a river that has been dammed. When life-force energy loses
it's momentum, it becomes sluggish and can lead to 'dis-ease'. Finding ways to
relieve accumulated stress is essential for health and well-being. Thai Yoga
Massage offers a unique opportunity to renew our natural state of ease.
What should I expect during my session?
Our sessions take place on a soft, supportive mat, which allows for the most
effective use of leverage and gravity in the stretches. Clients wear loose,
comfortable clothing. We use our whole body as a tool to mindfully stretch and
open the body......often farther than one could accomplish on their own. While
Thai Yoga Massage is a more active workout for your body than table massage, it
is meant to be therapeutic, not strenuous or painful. We aim to open the body up
while respecting it's limits, and maintain open communication throughout the
session to ensure your comfort and safety.
